Luminous Lotus Flower

The lotus holds great symbolic weight in Buddhist tradition and is considered sacred owing to its curious growth process. The lotus has a life cycle unlike any other plant. With its roots latched in mud, it submerges every night into river water and miraculously re-blooms the next morning, sparklingly clean.

 

With its daily process of life, death, and re-emergence, the lotus is an apt symbol of rebirth and spiritual enlightenment. The Luminous Lotus Flower is formed from twelve LED illuminated four-metre tall lotus flowers. One of the Festival’s most instagrammable installations, this luminous of sky-high lotus flowers provides a calming meditation space for those seeking peace and time to reflect.
